Jurors in the James VanCallis murder trial heard from 5 witnesses today, but one seemed to be a key witness for the prosecution.

William Buchanan says he was riding his bike along the Macomb Orchard trail back on July  24th, 2014 - the day April Millsap was murdered there.

He testified that he saw a man on a motorcycle. He says he looked right at him and remembers his "large eyes".

The defense tried to discredit Buchanan's testimony by having him recreate the moment he says he spotted VanCallis. The defense attorney even had VanCallis put on his motorcycle helmet and stand near Buchanan.

He seemed to be implying that Buchanan couldn't have seen much in the seconds he claims he made eye contact with VanCallis.

However, when the asst. prosecutor asked how sure he was that he saw VanCallis that day on a scale of 1 to 10, Buchanan said 10.

Four other witnesses took the stand.

Testimony continues at 11:00 am on Thursday.
