Woman arrested after allegedly shooting up ex-boyfriend's vehicle in Chesterfield Township

CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - A 25-year-old woman was arrested after reportedly shooting up her ex-boyfriend's Ford Escape Thursday morning at a mobile home park in Chesterfield Township near 24 Mile and Gratiot.

Residents of the "Carriage Way" mobile home park called 911 after hearing gunshots and witnessing a suspect race away from the scene at a high rate of speed in a green Grand Am.

When officers responded to the home, the 39-year-old male resident told police that he suspected his former girlfriend, Jessica Marie Vanover. He told police that she also owned a handgun.

Chesterfield Township officers and Macomb County Deputies were tipped off to a location where they found and arrested Vanover.

They located her green Grand Am and a 9MM semi-automatic handgun. Vanover was interviewed by detectives and taken to the Macomb County Jail.

She was arraigned on the following charges:

*Carrying a Concealed Weapon

*Dangerous Weapon - Carry with Unlawful Intent

*Discharging Firearm from Vehicle

*Careless Discharge of Firearm Causing Damage

Her bond was set at $10,000.
