WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) - A 30-year-old woman who was originally thought to have died during the recent flooding has met the man who rescued her.
Jena David says if that stranger hadn't pulled her to the safety of a Buddy's Pizza during the flooding, she would have died.
On Sunday, Jena finally got to meet Dustin Rowen and give him a big hug. Rowen yanked Jena's car door open when it was surrounded by flood water and carried her to safety on his back.
At one point Jena did pass out. Restaurant patrons and staff used a sweat shirt and table cloth to keep her warm.
She was then taken to the hospital by rescue personnel. During the chaos it was originally reported that she had died.
However, officials later said those reports were brought about by a miscommunication.
