MONROE, Mich. (WXYZ) - A new resident may be moving into Monroe that has some neighbors upset.
Construction on a new nuclear power plant may soon begin in the city.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff (NRC) says there are no environmental reasons to reject DTE's application to build a nuclear power plant next to the existing Fermi 2 plant.
Not everyone is in favor of the proposed plant. Opponents say the plant would harm wetlands and feed toxic algae in Lake Erie.
A forum to further discuss the matter is scheduled for December 15.
What do you think? Should Monroe get another nuclear plant? Why or why not?
