There were tears and smiles outside the MicroCenter store in Madison Heights Tuesday night.

That's because 13-year-old Anthony McClain was reunited with his family at the store parking lot after missing for more than five hours.

The teen on the autism spectrum was found a good distance away by Troy officers, near 15 Mile Road and Rochester.

His family believes he got off on the wrong bus stop near his home on Concord Avenue near 14 Mile around 3:30 pm.

His dad says the 8th grader went for a walk to clear his head and never returned home.

They considered this highly unusual behavior for the high functioning boy on the spectrum.

His dad Carlton Peeples told us, "The first thing I did was hug him and kiss him. And I then I just asked, where were you?"

Officers from Troy and Madison Heights, also family members and church members searched for hours for McClain.

The family wanted to give a special thanks to Alex and Brian from the Troy Police Department for their help, however, the family is unsure of their last names.
