Armed robbers restrain couple, one apologizes for being drug addict before stealing urn, other items

(WXYZ) - The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is on the hunt for two armed suspects accused of restraining one couple in their own home and robbing them.

People that live nearby were shocked because they say the area has a safe, small town feel.

“Everybody knows everyone around here.  You drive down the road and you wave to everybody.  People look out for each other around here," said Rob Lange.

"This is a very safe area," said Ron Hibbs.

One of the victims told authorities that one of the suspects apologized, stating he was a drug addict. They also told the victims they found their address on the website where they were trying to sell two vehicles.

The couple reported that a wallet, wedding rings, and a gold angel head containing the wife's the ashes of her mother and father had been stolen.

The wife was able to break free and call police.  She saw the men flee in a tan car.

The first suspect is described as a short white male around 40 years old. He was wearing blue jeans and a grey pullover mask. The second suspect is described as a tall, white male around 6 feet 2 inches.
