Body found following fire in Auburn Hills; family & neighbors say 55-year-old man lived in home

AUBURN HILLS, MIch. (WXYZ) - Police and fire investigators in Auburn Hills are investigating a fatal house fire.

It happened at the corner of Oakmont and Auburn Road. Investigators say one man was found dead inside the home.

The fire started around 6:30 PM Wednesday. Fire officials say the home was fully engulfed, with flames pouring out of multiple windows when they arrived on the scene.

Investigators have not positively identified the victim, but fire department officials say neighbors and family members have confirmed the home is occupied by a 55-year-old single man.

Parts of Auburn Road and Oakmont were shut down as the investigation took place. Roads were re-opened late Wednesday night.

A cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

The investigation is ongoing.
