Bomb threat made via text message causes Oakland County elementary school to evacuate

(WXYZ) - A bomb threat was made via text message to an elementary school in Oakland County Tuesday.

In a letter sent to parents, school officials said a bomb threat at North Sashabaw Elementary School caused the school to be immediately evacuated. The letter read, "...and while it was not considered credible, it did give a specific time, which has now passed."

The students were taken to Sashabaw Middle School while Oakland County Sheriff's Deparment searched the building with bomb-sniffing dogs.

Students, faculty and staff have since returned to the elementary school.

All questions and concerns can be addressed by calling the Administration Building at 248-623-5400.

North Sashabaw is located in the Township of Independence about five miles northeast of Waterford Township.
