CLAWSON, Mich. (WXYZ) - A Clawson school bus driver was fired, according to the Superintendent of Schools in Madison Heights, after he allegedly left a 4-year-old boy on a bus, whom residents found wandering at an intersection.
Clawson Schools provides bus service for special needs students in the Madison Heights school district.
Clawson Det. John Reinhardt said the bus driver unknowingly left the child in the bus.
"The driver did not perform his walk-through routine before parking in front of Clawson Middle School in a locked area," Reinhardt said.
Neighbors called police Jan. 14 around 8:50 a.m. when they found the boy wandering near Clawson Middle School at the intersection of Phillips and Washington streets.
No charges have been filed at this time.
