WATERFORD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Not a day goes by that Jessie and Ken Kanehl, Sr. don't think about the Ken Kanehl, Jr.
Jessie says it was in early July of 2005 that her step-son and his girlfriend Pamela Barnes were killed inside their Waterford home.
"They came in while they were both asleep in the bed," said Jessie. "The most innocent thing a person can do is sleep in your bed. You are not doing anything to anybody. Whoever came in and shot them multiple times in the head."
The couple had just moved in together when the murders happened.
Ken Kanehl, Jr. was 39-years-old he and left behind a daughter. Pamela was 41-years-old and also had a daughter.
"Pam's daughter was living with them and I truly believe that that was a problem for somebody," said Jessie.
Jessie and Ken Kanehl, Sr. are desperately hoping someone will come forward with information and help get answers for the family.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,800 reward for anyone who anonymously provides information that leads to an arrest.
They are offering an additional $1,000 if they get that information before midnight Saturday.
