FBI updates investigation into theft of jewelry from Tapper's in West Bloomfield

(WXYZ) - The FBI and police agencies from Detroit to Grand Rapids are asking for your help identifying several men in their 20s and 30s tied to two jewelry store robberies.

The men in the masks went into the Tappers in West Bloomfield at 5:00 p.m. on April 22, with handguns, ordered people on the floor and went right to the display case to take more than 100 expensive Rolex watches.

New pictures just being released show 3 men near the store before the robbery on cell phones. They could be lookouts.

Also, two clearer pictures show two other men just hanging out nearby not shopping. They are being called persons of interest.

New photos have also been released of a white Volkswagen and a black Chevy SUV with out of state plates that may have been used in the robberies.

At noon on the same day as the Tapper's robbery, similar men tried to hold up a Medawar's near Grand Rapids, but the owner shot one robber and they got away with nothing.

The injured robber has not surfaced and no other robberies have happened since.

A reward of $25,000 is being offered for information on the men in the pictures. You can call Crimestoppers, 1-800-SPEAK UP.
