LISTEN HERE: Man rescued from trench, co-workers call 911

NOVI, mich. (WXYZ) - Novi officials say a 48-year-old man working to install a sump pump drainage pipe was standing in a 7 foot deep trench when dirt began falling on him.

He was flat on his back when fire crews arrived.

Two other co-workers were removing dirt that had buried him from the waste down. They say his head was not under the dirt.

He was "hard breathing" when a co-worker called 911.
