April Morris has dealt with a lot of ups and downs in her life, but she is staying positive.
"My father passed away of ALS. I was married at the age of 30 and became a widow at 32. My husband was a paramedic who was hit and killed in front of our home," she says.
She got remarried in September of 2012, but close to her first wedding anniversary she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
"I just felt something not right. They actually found breast lumps that were malignant," says April.
She recently had a double mastectomy, but is still going through chemotherapy.
April saw our story in October on Raydiance for Women's "We're Hair For You" Giveaway.
They asked women who are battling breast cancer to share their stories. They selected one to receive custom made exact duplication wig for free!
April's story touched the staff at Raydiance and they selected her to be the recipient.
Today, she received that new wig after having her hair removed.
She says it's something she wanted it to look like the hair she had on her wedding day.
"I feel like April again. I can face the world and keep moving forward," she says.
April says with her faith and family there is no stopping her.
"I'm kicking cancer. I'm moving forward," says April.
"If I can get through this and help someone else along my journey, maybe that's what I'm here for," she says.
