A man suspected to be intoxicated crashed into an Oakland County Sheriff deputy's patrol vehicle on Milford Rd. near Wardlow Rd and then crashed into a home in the Highland Greens Mobile Home Community.

After crashing into the patrol car, the vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, fled and went northbound on Milford Rd.

Although the deputy's vehicle was damaged, he was able to pursue the Malibu. The car was eventually located by following a fluid trail from the car where it had left the roadway and struck the residence.

The resident of the home, a 76-year-old Highland Township resident, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The deputy was able to take the driver, who reportedly had a strong smell of alcohol and bloodshot eyes, into custody.

Paramedics treated the deputy for injuries.
