The man arrested for threatening to blow up the Oakland County Courthouse and killed a judge, all over a custody dispute, was in court for the first time on Thursday.

Anthony Jeffrey Brodi was visibly upset with his bond. The state requested a high bond, citing his offense.

The 24-year-old is accused of threatening to blow up the courthouse and kill Judge Lisa Gorcyca, who was overseeing his child custody case.

Records show he was ready to take lethal action if things didn't go his way. A high school classmate he rekindled a friendship with online reported his threats to police earlier this month.

Investigators say he was researching the Oklahoma City bombing and even sympathized with convicted bomber Timothy McVeigh.

When the seriousness of the crime set in, he walked away from the camera and was overheard cussing, saying "holy s***."

If convicted, Brodi faces up to 20 years in prison.
