PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) - A 46-year-old murder suspect was picked up Sunday evening in Pontiac by the Oakland County Sheriff's Department.
Kerry Holley was wanted in the death of 34-year-old Hardin Harris.
Police say that Holley shot Harris in the 30 block of Columbia at around 8:40 pm Saturday night. Deputies were notified about the murder by a caller who said someone had been shot.
Harris was found in the basement suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to McLaren Oakland Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
When questioned, witnesses told police that Harris and Holley were arguing and that Holley pulled out a gun and began to chase Harris while opening fire.
Family members tell 7 Action News Harris was at a family holiday party when he expressed his displeasure with how Holley was talking to his aunt.
Holley was seen running from the home. He has a criminal record, including a 2001 conviction for bank robbery. He served 5 years in prison and was on parole until 2010.
After being on the run since the shooting, Holley was picked up in Pontiac around 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
