Police search for two men who held up an elderly Pontiac man

PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) - An elderly Pontiac man was held up at gunpoint and the search is on to track down the men who robbed him.

It happened just before noon Friday. 

The 83-year-old long-time Pontiac resident returned home after running a few errands. As he got out of his car and was walking to his door, two suspects came out of nowhere. 

One man flashed a gun and ordered the senior citizen to hand over his wallet.

The victim's granddaughter spoke to 7 Action News about the incident. 

"People are sick and very horrible for doing that to an elderly man." said Breena.

The two suspects made off with the senior citizen's wallet which contained around $800.00.

Detectives are checking security video from nearby businesses to try and determine if the suspects followed the elderly man home. 

The two were seen leaving the area in a red Chevrolet Cavalier.
