PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) - A Pontiac father of two is free after, police say, he took his kids on a drunken joy ride.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department says 24-year-old José Castro drove his minivan down the streets in his neighborhood - hitting a parked car and a utility pole in the area of Marquette and Oliver streets in Pontiac.
Deputies caught up to him after he drove home and crashed on his couch.
A breathalyzer determined he had blood alcohol content of 0.22, more than twice the legal limit.
Castro was given a $5,000 bond and is due back in court next month.
