FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) - Police believe a possible case of road rage may have led to an accident that resulted in an overturned semi on I-96 in Farmington Hills.
Police are now looking for the driver of a black Impala who may have caused the crash.
The accident tied up traffic in Farmington Hills Thursday morning.
State Police say around 4:00 a.m., the Impala driver cut off the trucker. The driver of the Impala may have been upset that the truck was in the left lane. There are only two lanes on the stretch of roadway.
Investigators say the truck driver slammed on his brakes to prevent any collision, causing the semi to flip on its side.
The trucker ended up at the hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators are asking any witnesses of the crash to contact the State Police.
A spokesperson for Meijer tells Action News the truck was hauling general merchandise, and no food products. Meijer also says the driver is a 25-year veteran who has a spotless record and has logged more than 2 million miles.
