ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) -
A consumer watchdog group is warning parents of toys on the shelves that could hurt their children.
During a press conference in Royal Oak, the Public Interest Research Group in Michigan unveiled the results of its 28th annual Trouble in Toyland report.
The agency says some laws don't go far enough to protect children, and they urge parents to be extra vigilant during the holiday shopping season. In particular, they warn shoppers to look for things like toxic toys, choking hazards and loud games.
