Royal Oak residents and supporters will come together on Wednesday to march against racism and bigotry after racist and anti-Semitic graffiti was found on homes and vehicles.

Members of the faith community, neighbors and Together for One Royal Oak is calling on all Royal Oak residents, the city commission, police, school board members and other stakeholders to actively fight against bigotry in all capacities.

Residents say that although police have found the person responsible for the graffiti and are now getting mental health services for them, there was still harm caused to the community.

The rally is a call for action to ensure that Royal Oak is inclusive and welcoming for everyone, residents say.

The march will begin at 5:30 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church on Woodward Avenue and will end at the Royal Oak City Hall on Williams Street.
