Sheriff's Department: Pontiac teen went after mother with an ax after she flushed his marijuana

The Oakland County Sheriff's Department says a Pontiac teen attacked his mother with an ax after she discovered his marijuana stash and flushed it.

Deputies responded to an incident in the 800 block of Blaine after the woman told dispatchers she had locked herself in the bathroom when her 17-year-old son came after her with an ax.

When police arrived at the home the suspect had left the scene, but deputies found ax marks on the bathroom door.
The 36-year-old mother says she confronted her son after finding a marijuana plant in their basement. She flushed the marijuana down the toilet. She said her son became very upset when he discovered the plant was gone and threatened her with the ax.
Police searched the area for the son and found him a block away from the home. He was arrested and remains in the Oakland County jail pending charges.
