ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WXYZ) - A prominent priest who served the Archdiocese of Detroit has died.
Reverend Monsignor William Easton, pastor of the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, passed away Sunday.
The 69-year-old Easton was rushed to the hospital on Dec. 20, spending several days in critical condition.
He served as pastor of the Oakland County church since 1996.
According to the Shrine website , a rosary service for Monsignor Easton will be held Monday night at 8 p.m. at the Church, located at the intersection of 12 Mile and Woodward.
Viewing hours for Monsignor Easton will be held Jan. 2 from 2-10 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will take place the following morning at 11 a.m.
