SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) - Southfield police say a man has been arrested after he tried to grab a young boy.
Investigators say the 39-year-old Southfield man was on his bicycle on Twelve Mile Rd. near Everett Street around 5:30 p.m. Monday. They believe he grabbed a 9-year-old boy's jacket and arm, but the child was able to get away.
7 Action News spoke with the boy's mother who says her son also helped fend the attacker off his 14-year-old sister. The two children were walking to a nearby store.
Police say the suspect was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant out of Plymouth Township. He is also on parole for a home invasion in Southfield. So far no charges have been filed against him for the stranger danger incident.
