AUBURN HILLS, Mi (WXYZ) - Hundreds of students and volunteers came together to fight hunger at Avondale High School on Saturday.
They mixed together one hundred thousand meals that will be sent to those in need in our area, and in Haiti.
Students say Avondale Teacher Todd Henderson inspired them to work with the organization Kids Against Hunger on this project after a trip to Haiti.
Students raised more than $18,000 to buy the food for those in need.
"An amazing display of service, but this is something Avondale does all the time," said Edmond Guay, a teacher at Avondale.
Kids Against Hunger is a non-profit organization that works to help people hit by famine.
