ROYAL OAK, Mich (WXYZ) - Alan Wood and Tonia Watson showed no emotion in court despite tearful and then graphic testimony about how Nancy Dailey's body was found and how she was murdered.
The 80-year-old was discovered in her home with her hands tied and her throat cut. It is reported she was killed because she wouldn't give Alan Wood her pin number and money.
Detective Barry Edgell of Royal Oak testified Wood pulled Nancy to the floor near the bathroom door and tried to break her neck by twisting and turning it. In the end police found her with her hands tied and her throat cut.
The preliminary hearing for the two suspects will continue in March because a forensic expert wasn't available and the defense lawyer has another case to handle.
In the meantime, both Wood and Watson are being held without bond in the Oakland County Jail.
Police in Royal Oak say this is a tragic case that people can learn from because Nancy Dailey trusted the pair to do work around her house, but they were strangers who acted friendly and nice.
