(WXYZ) - Health officials say three people in their 20s have died from the flu in Oakland County.
The three victims were a 23-year-old woman, a 25-year-old woman, and a 29-year-old man. We're told they had no underlying health issues.
Oakland County health officials say the majority of patients in hospitals have the H1N1 strain and are under 60 years old, which is not the norm.
Usually, the flu hits people when they are very young or over 70 years old.
The Oakland County Health Department is reporting that flu shot requests have risen recently due to the large outbreak.
The county is still suggesting people get a flu shot not only to protest themselves, but to protect others from getting the flu from germs they may be carrying.
