Troy asks residents if library should reopen on Saturdays

Neighbors fought for months to keep the Troy library open, now there's talk of expanding its hours of operation.

The City Council is considering reopening the library on Saturdays.

The library has been closed on Saturdays since 2010. It was in danger of closing altogether over the summer, but residents approved a millage that would keep it open for at least three more years.

City leaders have set up a survey asking neighbors to vote on whether the library should reopen on Saturdays, and if they agree, to choose which day the library should close.

Residents can take the survey by clicking here .
