LEXINGTON, Mich. (WXYZ) - A police standoff involving a woman in the parking lot of the Lexington Police Department has ended.
The situation began about 11:30 am Saturday and ended around 5 pm in Port Huron when officers tried to pull the woman over for a traffic violation.
Police say the driver took off and drove from Port Huron to the Lexington Police Department. That's a distance of about 22 miles.
Police say the woman, who is believed to be about 74-years-old, had a gun inside the car. The standoff ended without incident after hours of negotiations. No shots were fired.
The woman was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
