Saving Grace Miniature Horse Rescue, located in Emmet, is the only one of its kind in Michigan.

Tammie Miller recently rescued six horses from west Michigan.

"Oh it was bad, this was truly a rescue situation," Miller explained.

The horses had been neglected after their owner passed away. One of them had hooves so long, it could barely walk.

"She had hooves that hadn't been cut in years and was beginning to grow up her leg like elves feet," Miller said.

At her stable in Emmett, Miller now has 10 miniature horses she rescued, in addition to 22 of her own. The six she recently took in are doing much better after Miller had a veterinarian do blood work and perform X-rays, but said it will be a long road to recovery before they can be adopted.

"It will be a little bit, but yes the goal is to find them a home."

It’s going to be a long road to recovery for these miniature horses, but you can still inquire about adopting them on Miller’s rescue website.
