A local man on disability has been living without heat for weeks.

His furnace broke down and with a fixed income he doesn’t have the funds to get it fixed.

That 59-year-old man says it’s been six-weeks since his mobile home has had any heat. With the coldest days of the year quickly approaching, he was starting to get worried for his health - that is until we got involved.

Kirk Kleinhoffer suffered two-heart attacks back in 2013 and has been on disability since. But it’s his furnace that’s giving him trouble these days.

The 59-year-old, who has been living in this mobile home in Ira Township for 35-years, says he uses his Social Security benefits to pay his bills every month – which barely gets him by.

That’s why he doesn't have extra cash to fix his furnace.

He's gotten quotes to fix it. The cheapest one $550 and to replace it is close to $3,000.

Problem is no one wants to work out a payment plan with him. So, he called us.

Now, Affinity Home & Private Care is stepping in.

That means today will be the last day that Kirk and his little furry friend Cricket have to sit next to a space heater and vent in order to stay warm.

There will be a team of workers at Kirk's home tomorrow who will work as fast as they can to get his furnace fixed.
