Missing Ann Arbor teacher found safe, taken to hospital

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - Ann Arbor police say Jill Fine, who was last seen Thursday night, has been found alive and has been taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

Her husband Jonathan tells Action News she was found by police near the couple's house, but other details remain scarce.

Jill had last been seen just before leaving home to walk the dog last night around 9:30 p.m.

"I went downstairs to take care of the cat and when I came up, she had already left with our dog Bailey," said Jonathan. "It was pretty typical."

Jonathan says his wife usually tells him when she leaves, but did not last night.

After about an hour, he became concerned and drove through the neighborhood looking for her.

The couple lives on Dartmoor near Liberty

He then called police, and hopped on his bicycle to search the nearby woods.

"It's unlikely that she went in there just because it's so dark," Jonathan said. "Just trying to look everywhere."

This morning, Jonathan says he went out looking again. A neighbor said he saw the beagle in another neighbor's yard.

"Bailey was there and really upset," said Jonathan. "I didn't even recognize her because she was so distressed and barking."

Jonathan Fine says his wife had been having some health issues.

"She hasn't slept in several days, she had really bad nausea," he said.

Jill is 39 years old, has blue eyes, and is approximately 5'7" and 150 lbs.

She is a teacher with the Ann Arbor School District.

She was wearing a pink shirt, khaki shorts and black flip-flops.

"They're not good walking shoes so I don't think she intended to walk very far," says Jonathan. "I"m just puzzled about what could have happened."
