(WXYZ) - At least 1 death is blamed on Friday night's powerful storms that ripped through Metro Detroit.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department says a driver was killed Friday when a tree fell into the middle of the road near Dexter.
Strong winds also knocked down power lines leaving 100,000 homes and businesses without electricity on Friday.
70,000 of them were in Oakland and Wayne counties. DTE Energy says everyone should see their power restored by Monday.
A house in Scio Township was completely destroyed after being hit by lightning. Everyone inside the home escaped without injuries.
A house in York Township was also hit by lightning and went up in flames. Everyone inside the home escaped without injuries. One firefighter was taken to the hospital after he fell through the floor. He is expected to be ok.
In Whitmore Lake, a tree came crashing down on top a house pinning down a homeowner. Resident rushed to pull him out and took him to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
