Imagine if every time you entered your home, you had to get on your knees and crawl.

That's the reality for Ann Arbor resident Sarah Tankson.

She's wheelchair bound and struggling with a debilitating neurological disorder called dystonia, and she's facing it all without the help of a ramp.

The 51-year-old spent weeks looking for a wheelchair accessible home but couldn't find anything section 8 housing would cover.

So Tankson took on a more affordable apartment, hoping her landlord would front the cost.

But it turns out, the apartment building is not legally required to pay for the change.

Outraged by the lack of help, Tankson's own caretaker has been trying to seek out the funds on her own, making dozens of requests to organizations.

But not a single one has come to her aid.

If you or anyone you know is interested in helping, you can e-mail caretaker, Karen Kelsey.
