ANN ARBOR (WXYZ) - Perhaps it is proof that University of Michigan fans are born, not made. Naomi Wozniak couldn't wait for her parents to reach the hospital. They delivered the baby girl in the parking lot of the Big House.
Dominika Wozniak was due on July 17, but her little baby girl wasn't ready to meet the world then. "'I'm like, 'I don't care if she comes a little late, as long as she comes fast.'" said the Ann Arbor woman. "And she did -- faster than we expected!"
Dominika and her husband Dave jumped into the car on July 20 as soon as her water broke at home. The couple never made it to the hospital. They pulled into a parking lot two blocks from their house. Dave remembers feeling the head while his wife was in the backseat and saying, "''It's impossible statistically speaking! This shouldn't' be happening!"
Within minutes Naomi was safely born, but it wasn't until Dave told the 9-1-1 dispatcher his location that the couple realized where she was born. They looked up to see the block M at the University of Michigan's football stadium above their car. Describing how quickly Naomi arrived, Dave says, "It was literally an easy catch, which I guess makes it fitting at the stadium."
