VIDEO & TWEETS: President Barack Obama visits Zingerman's, orders a reuben while in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - As every University of Michigan student knows, Zingerman's is the place to go for an amazing sandwich when your parents are in town - and they're paying. Today, President Barack Obama visited the famous Ann Arbor deli and ordered a reuben.

President Obama was joined by Congressman Gary Peters. Obama ordered the "#2"- a reuben described on their menu as, "Zingerman’s corned beef, Switzerland Swiss cheese, Brinery sauerkraut & Russian dressing on grilled, hand-sliced Jewish rye bread."

The sandwich sells for $13.99 or $16.50 depending on the size. Obama later said he ordered the smaller one. "The reuben is killer," he said when speaking about the nation's minimum wage later in the day.

President Obama also ordered the "Che Che Spinach" salad on the side. The $6.50 salad was a special today at Zingerman's. It's described as, "Tantré spinach, dried cherries, red onion, Vermont cheddar & 6-year balsamic."

Andrea Byle, the 22-year-old University of Michigan graduate who took the president's order later told a pool reporter he chose a "new pickle" with his reuben sandwich and spinach salad.
