Sixty-three-year old Marcia Neigebauer is being remembered by friends as a person involved in the community.

Amanada Adams worked for Marcia and her husband retired Ann Arbor police officer Kent at their business in Allegan, Michigan.

The couple owned the Delano Mansion Inn bed and breakfast.

Adams is a photographer and helped with weddings and events at the inn.

"It came as a huge shock as I said earlier. I didn't think that was something Kent was capable of and I still have my doubts as to the motivation behind it," Adams says.

Marcie was also a member of the Allegan historic society and ran for city council in 2015.

In September the couple posted on their business Facebook that they were moving to Ann Arbor because Marcia had ALS.

Sunday police say her husband Kent called 9-1-1 and said that he strangled his wife in their home on Plum Hollow Drive in Pittsfield Township.

Kent was arraigned in court Tuesday and was denied bond.

Marcia’s daughter created a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs.
