University of Michigan issues crime alert after woman says she was sexually assaulted on campus

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) - The University of Michigan has issued a crime alert about a sexual assault that happened on campus.

The assault happened at the West Quad residence hall sometime between 12:45 and 1:30 am Sunday morning.

A woman told police the she was assaulted by a man she met at an off-campus party. The man walked her to the residence hall where, she says, he assaulted her in a lower-level common area of the building.

The suspect is described as a Asian man with short, dark hair. He is between 5'6" and 5'8" tall. Police say that no description of the clothing he was wearing is available at this time.
