University of Michigan Police issue crime alerter after attempted robbery near school library

ANN ARBOR (WXYZ) - University of Michigan Police have issued a crime alert after an unarmed robbery near the school's library.

According to the police report, two men approached a student around 1:40 a.m. Saturday morning on the 900 block of S. University Avenue. One reportedly punched the student in the head, knocking him down and kicking him twice.

The suspects searched the victim's pockets but came up empty handed. They fled toward State Street when others approached.

One suspect is described as a black male, 6' to 6'3" tall, 35-40 years old with a goatee. He was wearing a black hoodie pulled over his head and a blue neck warmer. No description was offered for the second suspect.
