University of Michigan warns students about off campus robbery

ANN ARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) - The University of Michigan has issued a crime alert following an off campus robbery early Saturday morning.

The robbery happened near the intersection of East University and Oakland streets. That's just one block from campus.

Police say a man and a woman were walking in the area just before 5:00 a.m., when they were approached by two African-American men. One of the men was wearing a black hoodie and carrying a black handgun with a silver barrel. 

After the holdup, the men took the victims' property and rand from the scene.

No description of the suspects has been provided.

The University is asking students to remain vigilant and travel with friends, when possible.
