WXYZ - Former Highland Park Emergency Financial Manager Arthur Blackwell was sentenced Wednesday in Wayne County Circuit Court.
Wednesday, Blackwell was sentenced to two years probation and a $264,000 restitution on the charge of Safe Keeping of Public Money.
Last month, Blackwell pleaded no contest to the two year misdemeanor charge.
The plea came after a three-year legal battle stemming from investigations that he embezzled money from the city. The initial embezzlement charges accused Blackwell of paying himself $264,000 after agreeing to a salary of $1 per year.
By pleading no-contest, Blackwell does not admit guilt.
