DETROIT (WXYZ) - Bob Bashara appeared in the Wayne County Circuit court for the first time today. When he approached the bench, he spoke briefly with Judge Vonda Evans, telling her "I'm blessed."
The comments came during Bashara's arraignment on murder charges in the death of his wife Jane. A not guilty plea was entered during the hearing.
Today's hearing follows last week's preliminary examination in the case. The hearing included testimony about Bob Bashara's alternative lifestyle, a lifestyle that included bondage, BDSM and a mistress.
During today's hearing, Evans ordered Bashara to stand trial on March 3. He is currently serving time for trying to hire a hitman to kill his handyman Joe Gentz.
Gentz has admitted to killing Jane Bashara, but says Bob Bashara ordered him to do it.
