GROSSE POINTE SHORES, Mich. (WXYZ) - Medical examiners are working to identify a body found in the reeds along Lake St. Clair in Grosse Pointe Shores early Wednesday morning.
Construction workers at the nearby Grosse Pointe Yacht Club discovered the body around 7 a.m.
On-lookers questioned police to see if the victim was a fisherman who has been missing since April 13. They say it was windy and cold that day.
The boat the fisherman took off in was later found floating upside down in the water. Divers searched but never found his body.
The Coast Guard and police say they can't confirm if the victim is the missing fisherman. They are only saying that the victim has been in the water for an extended period of time.
Police say foul play does not seem to be a factor in this case.
