VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - Miraculously a driver is alive after her Jeep became pinned under a semi truck.
It happened on Rawsonville Road just north of Huron River Drive around 7:00 a.m. Monday morning.
Despite being wedged under the semi, rescue crews say the victim was talking to them the whole time. She was airlifted to U of M hospital using Life Flight. Amber Malmstem, 33, was driving her 1997 Jeep northbound on Rawsonville Road when she struck a semi truck.
The truck driver, 52-year-old Armond Gary, was not injured.
The lieutenant on scene says he had never seen anything like it.
Police also say it took about an hour to get the semi off the Jeep.
