DEARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) - Eastbound I-94 has reopened following an early morning crash that left one person dead.
The accident happened near the Greenfield/Schaefer exit just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday. The freeway was shut down for about five hours.
Police say a four door Chrysler sedan was hit by a Chrysler Town and Country minivan.
The man driving the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are still working to identify him.
Investigators say the woman driving the minivan fled from the accident, but was taken into custody a short time later by Dearborn police. Both the driver and her male passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police say drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
