Dearborn Police arrest man in carjacking, stabbing of 19-year-old

DEARBORN, Mich. (WXYZ) - Dearborn Police arrested a man on Tuesday in connection with a carjacking and stabbing of a 19-year-old that happened Monday morning.

24-year-old Shaker Hassoon was charged with carjacking, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to police, the 19-year-old Detroit man agreed to meet with Hassoon to buy drugs, and after completing the transaction, Hassoon opened the door and began stabbing him with a knife.

Hassoon then jumped in the car and fled the area. The 19-year-old was taken to the hospital and treated for multiple puncture wounds and then released.

Hassoon was arraigned on the three charges and has a $100,000 bond. A preliminary exam has been set for Friday, March 21 at 9 a.m.
