Diane Hathaway due in court on bank fraud charge on January 29
(WXYZ) - 7 Action News has learned that former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway will be in court on January 29 in her bank fraud case.
Hathaway is due to be arraigned in an Ann Arbor courtroom at that time.
The date was set after a meeting between Hathaway's attorneys and the US Attorneys office.
Hathaway was charged with bank fraud following last year's 7 Action News Investigation into real estate dealings surrounding the short sale of her Grosse Pointe home.
The investigation also led to Hathaway's retirement from the Michigan Supreme Court. She officially retired from the bench on Monday.
Two days before her retirement, the bank fraud charge was revealed in an information that was filed in federal court.
At the time the information was filed legal experts told 7 Action News that it appeared a plea deal was in the works, because prosecutors filed the information and not an indictment.
