(WXYZ) - Flight delays could last a few days, despite planes being able to take off and land, according to Detroit Metro Airport spokesperson Mike Conway.
He tells 7 Action News airlines are now playing catch-up with customers whose flights were affected.
Many are being rebooked which can take a day or two before they even depart.
Conway also updated us on the lighting systems at Metro Airport. There is an on-going issue with the flight approach lighting system that the FAA will need to help repair. For now, the runway can only be used during daylight.
If you're picking up someone or have a flight scheduled for takeoff, the best advice is to check ahead and call your airline.
