GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) - Family and friends gathered for the funeral service of Jane Bashara, the Grosse Pointe Park woman who was found murdered on Detroit's east side.
The funeral was held at Memorial Church on Lakeshore next to War Memorial.
The investigation into her death is beginning to unravel according to Grosse Pointe Park police.
Bashara's body was found in her Mercedes-Benz SUV last week in Detroit. It was determined that she had been strangled.
Her husband, Bob Bashara, told police that he reported his wife missing last Tuesday night around 11:30 p.m. and says he had no contact with her that night.
However, sources tell Action News that investigators believe Bashara did have contact with his wife Jane that night. Bob Bashara is being called a "person of interest" in his wife's murder case. Bob Bashara had taken a polygraph test, but sources close to the investigation tell Action News he failed.
A number of strange new developments have also emerged in the investigation. Jane Bashara's purse and its contents were strewn about on the passenger side floor, the keys to the Mercedes were on the driver's side floor and there was "a prescription bottle" on the passenger seat.
A couple of Jane Bashara's finger nails were broken.
No arrests have yet been made in the case.
