INKSTER, Mich. (WXYZ) - Inkster police are investigating three shootings that injured four and killed another in a period of just five hours beginning on Sunday.
The first shooting happened about 7:15 pm. Police say two people were shot at Lehigh and Meadowdale. Both of them were taken to the hospital and expected to recover.
Then at around 12:40 am Monday morning, three people were shot in the area of Moore and Lehigh. Officers were dispatched to the scene, but found nothing. The scene is less than a mile from the first shooting.
A short time later a local hospital contacted police and told them they were treating two of the people who had been shot at Moore and Lehigh. It's not clear how they made their way to the hospital at this time. One of those people died, the other is expected to recover
Just as officers were arriving at the hospital, a third person arrived and said he had been shot at Beech and Northland in Inkster. Police say this man is the brother of the man who was killed in the shooting at Moore and Lehigh.
However, for the time being, police say they are considering those two shootings to be separate incidents.
